Akinkunmi Sodiq, the impeached president of National Association of Local Government Students (NASLOGOS) has refunded 100,000 Naira out of the 565,200 Naira he embezzled, a correspondent of OAU Kilonshele gathered.
It should be recollected that OAU Kilonshele reported how he embezzled funds meant for different project which totaled, 565,200.
This news outfit gathered that the president, through his relatives who intervened, had refunded the sum of 100,000.
Speaking with our correspondent, the NASLOGOS Director of Welfare, Aluko Timilehin, said "they paid 100,000."
Also, in a telephone conversation, the university Chief Security Officer, Babatunde Oyatokun, confirmed that 100,000 has been refunded.
However, OAU Kilonshele can also confirm that the impeached president, Akinkunmi Sodiq is now in a deeper mess as it has been discovered by the executives that the funds will rise past 600,000 Naira.
According to a reliable source, OAU Kilonshele learnt that half of the 117,000 Naira for souvenirs has not even be paid and that there is a discrepancy between the amount Mr. Sodiq told the executives and the amount he agreed with the seller.
Confirming from the executive council, Mr. Aluko made it known that; "After much deliberation, he still did not bring the souvenirs. We forcefully took him to Ibadan, on getting to Ibadan, we found out that the souvenirs he told us he did for 650 Naira per one, the man said they agreed on 350 per one.
"The man (the seller) said he has only been paid 50,000 Naira and the president collected 117,000 for 180 souvenirs at the rate of 650 Naira per one."
Following the impeachment of Mr. Sodiq, the Vice President of the association, Busayo Folashade, had taken over as the acting President.
